SCO, BRICS and EAEU partners are actively forming additional routes and working out new logistics solutions, said the CEO of Russian Railways.
In 2023, the volume of freight traffic with the EAEU countries set a record – 73.5 million tons, said Sergey Pavlov, First Deputy CEO of Russian Railways, on the sidelines of the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF) in Vladivostok.
He specified that 42 million tons of them were with Kazakhstan, 29 million – with Belarus.
“International transportation in 2023 accounted for 551 million tons, or 1/3 of the total volume. Together with our SCO, BRICS and EAEU partners, we are actively forming additional routes and working out new logistics solutions,” said the deputy head of the company.
Pavlov added that a single tariff for carriers has been established on the transport corridor north-south of Russia, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan and Iran.
“Belarusian Railways and Russian Railways set records every month for the volume of oil product and fertilizer cargo transportation. And the joint transport and logistics company of Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan allows us to deliver cargo from China to Europe in five to seven days,” the head of the company said.
Recall that the EEF-2024 will last until September 6. The main theme of the forum this year is “Far East – 2030”.
