Kyrgyzstan’s economic growth was 7.4%

In January 2024, economic growth was 7.4%. This was reported today at a press conference by the National Statistical Committee.

The gross domestic product in January, according to preliminary estimates, amounted to 73.2 billion soms and increased by 7.4% compared to January 2023.

The volume of industrial output in January 2024 amounted to 37.6 billion soms and increased by 16.5% compared to January 2023 due to an increase in the production of wood and paper products, printing activities – by 1.8 times, rubber, plastic products and building materials – by 46.6%, basic metals – by 35.3%, food products (including beverages) and tobacco products – by 25.6%, refined petroleum products – by 17.8%, pharmaceuticals – by 17.6%, as well as in textile production, clothing and footwear, leather and leather products and chemical products – by 17.3%.

Positive trends were observed in construction, where the increase in volumes amounted to 23.6%, wholesale and retail trade – 22.8%, as well as in agriculture – 1.4%.
