New Horizons in Trade: Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan Expand Economic Cooperation

Trade and economic relations between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan continued to develop in a positive direction in 2023. At the end of the year, trade turnover between the countries amounted to $380.9 million, which is 14.7% more than in 2022 (data from the National Statistical Committee of the Kyrgyz Republic). Uzbekistan’s exports to Kyrgyzstan

Uzbekistan’s exports to Kyrgyzstan in 2023 amounted to $198.2 million, which is 13.9% more than in 2022. The following goods predominate in the structure of Uzbekistan’s exports to Kyrgyzstan:

  • Machinery and equipment (68.5%)
  • Food products (18.2%)
  • Chemical products (10.3%)

Uzbekistan’s imports from Kyrgyzstan

Uzbekistan’s imports from Kyrgyzstan in 2023 amounted to $182.7 million, which is 15.6% more than in 2022. The following goods predominate in the structure of Uzbekistan’s imports from Kyrgyzstan:

  • Food products (54.2%)
  • Mineral products (19.7%)
  • Metals and metal products (12.8%)
