The volume of gold and foreign exchange (international) reserves of the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic at the end of September was estimated at 4 billion 301.7 million dollars. Over the month, it has grown by 171.2 million.
The current figure is a record in history. The previous maximum was recorded at the end of August this year – 4 billion 130.5 million dollars.
It should be noted that last month the National Bank purchased 22.5 million dollars on the foreign exchange market to smooth out exchange rate fluctuations.
In recent years, the reserves of the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic have reached 3 billion dollars several times, but then decreased. However, for several months now, they have been steadily growing and rarely decreasing. For example, in October 2023, the reserves amounted to 2 billion 834.2 million dollars, that is, in less than a year, they have increased by one and a half times.
